Rebecca's birthday is in August so we opted to celebrate her half-birthday at school (like all of the other summer birthdays do). She has been asking me since Christmas when her half-birthday was. So its not that I forgot, its just that I forgot to remember at the right time! :)
The evening of her actual half birthday I realized the day had come and gone. So...a few days later we baked cupcakes - she had to participate of course. Bright bright pink icing on chocolate cupcakes. Sugar flowers for the girls, sugar mustaches for the boys. LOTS of sprinkles. Here is our one selfie at school. Happy almost-half-birthday Rebecca!
She asked why we didn't have a party too...so we're working on appropriate expctations - party for the real birthday, cupcakes at school for the half. And since I've got 12 more years of this with her 2/18 is officially in my calendar now.
