I think I've been neglecting any sort of fall updates because its too stinking hot here to acknowledge that its actually fall...but alas.
Went with Dahdo and Pam to Pam's mom's place outside Comfort over one of the weekends that Kyle was in Wyoming - played in the river for the day. Rebecca liked to push the limit of how far she was allowed to go.
Kyle got back from his trip just in time to go to our school's Fall Family Social. Owen was keenly aware that Kyle hadn't been - he had either had to work or was on a trip - and it was very very important to him that our entire family went since it is, after all, the fall FAMILY social.
Getting ready
Picnic style
And some face paint.
Speaking of face painting...this is what Rebecca came home looking like after she went with some sweet neighbors to a monarch butterfly festival - she is a butterfly (and yes, she's on the potty).
One Friday night Kyle was working and we took an outing to go walk around the lake (at least part of the way) to feed the ducks. Well, it was too hot out for the ducks, so after we survived the walk back we had smoothies for dinner. Win-win.
(How is Maggie's so face dirty from a walk?)
Random father-daughter time where Rebecca wanted to make a "doctor drawing" of the human body. Several organ systems represented.
A sweet neighbor surprised Maggie with a little minion hat - that she loves to wear even though its still 95. Minion hat for the win.
One day a week Rebecca gets out of school about 1.5 hours earlier than Maggie (and Owen) so we have a standing lunch date. We were interrupted right after we got our food the first week because Maggie was "sick" and we had to go get her from school. So Rebecca wanted a do-over at the same place - she says we got busted up the first time. She said we even had to order the same things. This week she wants to go to the place with the giant hot dogs (aka Costco). She's a fun date.
Carlos stayed with us for a few days on a few occasions in early fall. Always fun to have Uncle Carlos around.
Especially when he wants to do the dirty work of parenting like pull Rebecca's tooth. She asked for it and then chose the method (string tied to doorknob, tied to tooth).
Unfortunately the string broke so they went to the ol' standby yank it out method. Ugh.
She is the cutest snagliest tooth 6 year old ever...pics to follow.
