This year's Halloween Costumes brought to you by Rebecca's Insistence on Being a Princess. And my Waning Desire for us to Dress as a Family/Theme...
So, I give you, The Royal/Fairytale Mezger Family
The Fairy Godmother. Princess Rebecca. Fire-breathing Maggie Dragon, Hilarious Court Jester, Sir Owen - the Brave Knight.

Kyle's costume - multi-colored tights and all - was my costume (handmade by my mom) when I was in about 7th grade. To say Kyle is a trooper is an understatement. It doesn't hurt that he had a long stint playing PantyHose Pete at Camp Buckner...Ooooweeee if you remember that.
Here is what I will look like in about 30 years. The Fairy Grandmother. Lovely as ever...full body shot coming up.
Maggie spent most of her evening with sans costume but with spikey dragon-like hair eating. Nothing' wrong with that.
Princesses love bounce houses too.
On Guard!
Fairy Grandmother with Dragon and Knight. (Look closely at her cane.)
FG and Nana the Clown.
Some fine ladies. Scissors (accompanied by paper and rock), The Shepherdess, The Beekeeper, Batgirl, FG, Wonder Woman.
Trying to recreate the picture from last year of Jesse, Garden Gnome, Piglet and Cowgirl.
I took about 15 photos of the kids - all of them had at least 1 kid in full blur and several kids missing. All keepsakes. :)
Maggie is trying to make a run for it. Rebecca is out of the picture trying to get her princess hat on.
All 3 of mine are in this one! What a stellar group.
Not so hard to capture everybody when parents can wrangle the kids. Can't go through everyone, but make sure you notice: Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat, LOTS of Superheroes!, Beekeepers and Bees, Fiona (Shrek) and family, Shepherds with their Sheep, Giraffe Family, Rock/Paper/Scissors, and us.
This is why I don't take pictures trick-or-treating.
The boys helping clean up after the party.
The girls after we cleaned up from the party.
Thanks Luke and Mel for hosting yet another FABULOUS Halloween Party! We would probably be quite boring without you.
*Halloween candy contrast: 1) Owen's candy bag ripped and he lost about 90% of his candy at the end of the evening. Mrs. Scissors gave him the Rock's candy since she's too little to eat most of it. Halloween generosity at its finest. 2) We left a bowl of candy and pumpkin/note in the front yard of our new house for the neighborhood kids. My mom drove by at 7:30 and it was gone. Bowl, pumpkin - everything. Boo. Not surprised, but still. Boo.
*Post title: Rebecca called a parking garage she was in w/ Kyle recently "booky and cweepy cwarly".
