March & April Randomness (aaand, some February)

I think this was Valentine's Day - clearly, because look at this little stud.
THE GREAT FLOOD OF 2612 ZACH SCOTT. Before and after pics from the first major #amaturehour undertaking. Sure is a good thing we discovered that major plumbing problem so the house people could fix it...

February Camping + March Ranch Day

Apparently we went camping in February as well as to the Ranch in March. I don't remember the ranch day and (aha!) its because it was just Kyle and the kids. Camping was at Honeymoon.

s
March Ranch Day - just Kyle and the kids. I have no proof from my calendar that this actually happened or that it happened in March, but there are these pics so....

Texas Mammal Day - My Deer

Texas Mammal Day for 1st grade. The mom-win was that Rebecca was excited to be a white-tailed deer, making double-use of the deer antlers I made for my 2016 Halloween costume. The mom-surprise was that Rebecca did not want to practice her little "speech" with me. For some kids that would mean they might not know what to say or not have prepared or would get stuck. For my kid that meant it was the most hysterical and amazing 5 minutes (yes, she went on and on and on)...she truly had prepared. And her little performer personality came alive. And she maybe made up a few colorful details just to make it more interesting (on the fly, of course). Best part was when she veered off script and started talking about what good sausage they make and what it looks like when you field dress one. All these sweet little first grader faces and their sweet parents! It was amazing. I got several texts from moms afterwards telling me it was the highlight of their day/week (and their kids did their presentations too)! Watch out world..

Nope, that date you see isn't incorrect...

Well hello there two thousand AND NINETEEN. Yes, it has been that long. So, here's the deal. The blog needs closure. So here's what we're going to do. I started 2017 on here and by golly that's where its going to end. And then we're going to figure out another plan for 2018 (retrospectively of course) and then ongoing for 2019. So, KIDS - since you're probably the only ones who will ever look at these books - sorry for the missing color commentary. I uploaded the first twenty or so of these posts back in August 2017 - but only the pictures. So, that's pretty much what you're going to get. And my goal today is to get at least a good overview of the rest of 2017 uploaded and the book sent off to print - it'll be volume 14 - our lost blog-to-print book. What an era.

FYI you're 11, 9 and 7 now - at its New Year's Day and your dad gave me the day off and I'm sitting at a favorite coffee shop and drinking a latte and getting to look back at all of these memories is such a gift (and an "achiever-fill"). Life is good, its not always easy, but its good. And God is really really good. Always. Love y'all crazy bunches.
