We embarked on the Third Annual Mezger Beach Week in Port Aransas Texas back in September. Mostly good times were mostly had by most of us most of the time.
If you're 15.5 month old MAGGIE...here's what the week looked like for you.
Napping on the beach.

My dream job.
A little playing with the classic Mezger beach toys.
Lots of crawling up into beach chairs and making camp.
A little bit of destroying other people's beach castles. Here comes the baby monster.
A lot of passing out on people on the beach.
A little bit of playing with daddy.
A whole lot of pouting because mommy won't always hold you.
Some hanging out in the beach house - trying out a new hairdo.
Some smiles on the beach - finally!
Some cousin time w/ Blair.
Happy crawling towards momma.
Unhappy when momma won't pick you up.
Happy in daddy's arms until you see momma.
Happy playing with Nana and your feet.
So yes, Maggie was/is a little big of a momma's girl. The snuggles I get at bedtime make it worth it. Barely. :)
If you're 3 year old REBECCA...here's what the week looked like for you.
Diggin'.
Party Planning for momma's birthday...testing out the party hats and chocolate.
Enjoying some time with my beach buddy - Nana.
Testing out the waves.
Playing a little ball.
Practicing dance moves by sunset.
Silliness in the beach house.
More silliness. (Keep my mouth closed?)
Milk and lovey - a little bit of home at the beach.
If you're almost 5 year old OWEN...here's what the week looked like for you.
You guessed it - lots of digging and building.
Something was funny.
Really funny.
Really really funny.
Making cool patterns with sand.
Some boogy boarding debriefing with daddy.
A little 5-year old Bailey
Birthday Photoshoot (courtesy of Aunt Mel).
Mel, this is silly. :)
Flowers are funny!
King of the Sand Dunes!
Weeks away from being 5, but he's not a cheater, so he said he was 4.
What do two 5-year olds talk about?
Our other FAVORITE MEZGERS.
BLAIR
BLAKE
(Talking on the phone like his daddy.)
BAILEY
Us big kids:
The Mezger Women.
Nana taking a break...
From stuff like this...
And this.
Maggie's break on me.
Daddy's teaching their kiddos.
And mommas walking their babies.
The scene.
BUT WHAT IT'S REALLY ABOUT IS GROUP FUN...
In the surf.
In Aunt Mel's classroom.
In Aunt Mel's kitchen (do you see a theme here)?
Just off the ferry, watching the big boats.
But mostly in the surf.
And on the shore.
A few more highights...
Boats in the water.
Trucks on the beach.
An intense Uno tournament.
My 32nd birthday - complete with party hats. (Kyle had to drive back to Austin that day for a last-minute work thing - a little bummer - but still a good day!)
And it's not really a beach trip unless kids get burried in the sand.
Attack of the baby sister!
And of course some family photos.
The Other Mezgers
Our Mezgers
All 6 Mezger grandkids.
All 6 Mezger grandkids with Nana.
As usual, we had a great trip and are blessed to have family that we actually want to hang out with! Despite Kyle having to make a whirlwind Austin trip, despite Blair and Maggie both having colds, despite less than ideal sleeping situations, etc. etc. etc. it was a great week. And as long as we don't have another baby (NOT a hint) these types of trips will keep getting easier and easier! :)
I'm admittedly not much of a beach girl - the sand, sun and saltwater are not my favs. But what is it about beach toys, sandcastles and sunsets??? They're on my happy list.
